Pakistan And Germany Signed Four Agreements on Financial, Technical Cooperation, Support to Immunization And Polio Eradication

Secretary Economic Affairs Division Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan and German Ambassador H.E. Martin Kobler signed Agreements on Financial Cooperation 2015 and Technical Cooperation Agreement 2016 worth Euro 76.4 million and 15.3 Million respectively.

Both sides aim to enhance cooperation for Multi-donor Trust Fund for KPK, FATA and Balochistan, livelihood support and community infrastructure projects, social health & infrastructure projects, reintegration and rehabilitation programme for TDPs, promotion of renewable energy, improving social and labour standards in the Pakistan Textile Industry.

Pakistan and Germany also signed grant agreements on Support to Immunization worth € 10 million and Polio Eradication € 10 million. Secretary EAD Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan and M. Wolfgang Moellers, Director, KfW Pakistan signed the agreements. These agreements envisage providing support to polio vaccines and measures to strengthen surveillance and technical assistance for the implementation of Pakistan’s National Polio Emergency Action Plan (NEAP) and support to immunization for different types of vaccines and cold chain equipment.
