Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program, Graduate studies scholarships available to developing country nationals . Next calls for applications on Jan 15 and March 25, 2024.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) will take applications from January 15 to February 29, 2024 (Application Window #1) and from March 25 to May 24, 2024 (Application Window #2). In addition, 9 master’s programs are subject to a special application procedure. The Program is open to women and men from eligible developing countries with professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts.
 


Applicants Must:

• Be a national of an eligible developing country;

• Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country;

• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned at least 3 years prior to application deadline date;

• Have 3 years or more of paid professional experience in a development-related area after earning a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent);

• Be accepted unconditionally to enroll in the upcoming academic year in one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs by the application deadline date;

• Not be a World Bank Group staff member (which includes consultants) or relative of a WBG staff member.
       


Award:

Recipients will receive a full scholarship in development studies to one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs

Scholarship includes full tuition and mandatory fees, a monthly living stipend, health insurance, round-trip airfare, and travel allowance.

Upon completion of the program, JJ/WBGSP scholars must immediately return to their home countries to apply their new skills to their countries’ social and economic development.

The link to the JJ/WBGSP application form will only be communicated to candidates shortlisted by participating universities. Potential candidates are invited to reach out to the targeted university to find out if they meet this requirement.

Complete applications, including the application form and two professional references, must be submitted online by 12:00pm EST February 29, 2024 (Window#1) and by 12:00pm EST on May 24, 2024 (Window#2).
